The Beatles exit Pan Am’s Boeing 707 a/k/a “The Beatles Clipper” at the Los Angeles International Airport, 18th August 1964. The opening date of their first U.S. tour was the next evening at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Initially shot for LIFE magazine, this image was also used on the front cover of Rolling Stone magazine Issue No. 1200, published on January 16th, 2014, to illustrate the article “How the Beatles Took America.”
