Sid Vicious & Nancy Spungen

Photography by Steve Emberton

Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols with his girlfriend Nancy Spungen, taken at Sid’s mews house in Maida Vale, London, January 1978.

Sid is shown here wearing his infamous swastika shirt—designed by the Sex Pistols’ manager Malcolm McLaren—which created controversy when he wore it in the film The Great Rock ’n’ Roll Swindle. This shirt was sold for over $15,000 by a rock memorabilia dealer to a private collector in 2010.
