B.B. King

Photography by Baron Wolman

This photograph shows a younger, slimmer, very approachable and very hospitable B.B. relaxing before his performance with the trademark twinkle in his eye. King was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980, and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. All of us who have heard him—recorded or alive—understand why he deserved to be in both.
