Cat Stevens
Photography by Gered Mankowitz
“This was taken in a little flat above Stevens’ parents’ café on New Oxford Street. He’d made a big splash with a couple of singles and was very highly thought of. He was very charming, very nice. I’ve always felt the pictures captured a different flavor to him: a naturalness and innocence that reflected both him and the times really well.”
