David Bowie

Photography by Terry O’Neill

This portrait was part of a studio session to promote the Diamond Dogs LP. Bowie absent-mindedly picked up the scissors and Terry decided to keep them in the shoot to symbolize the cutting-edge nature of Bowie’s music. This image later appeared on the cover of the book One Hundred Years of Menswear (2009) by fashion historian Cally Blackman.
