Jimi Hendrix

“During a break in rehearsals I asked Jimi if I could take a few pictures, he said “sure,” so we set off to find a location, which proved somewhat difficult. I needed some daylight to shoot with and the studio was windowless. Eventually, we found one small window in a stairwell but so many people were using it that it was difficult to overcome people pushing past Jimi and a passerby nearly hit his guitar. I think we had a brief period of maybe two minutes when all was clear and I managed to get half a roll of film shot. Jimi was good humored and then we spent some time finding our way back to the studio so he could continue the show.”
