Kris Kristofferson

Photography by Baron Wolman

OK, I admit it. Kris Kristofferson is one of the artists of whom I’m jealous. I mean, c’mon, the dude has looks, intelligence, talent, height… He was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford where he boxed, played rugby, wrote songs and recorded records. Then he joined the Army, became a helicopter pilot and completed Ranger training. And THEN he became a full-time musician and actor, and, well, as they say, the rest is history. I made this informal portrait of Kris in 1970, in Los Angeles on the set of the movie Cisco Pike.
