“I had an idea for a book of famous guitarists photographed with their favorite guitar. I’d never photographed the Pretenders and always admired Chrissie hugely. I went to her house and couldn’t find a point that worked. Walking round, I saw this great-looking bath and she just climbed in with the guitar. It was a completely mad, spontaneous thing to do.”
