Real Moments

Photography by Barry Feinstein

Real Moments preserves some of the most arresting images of Bob Dylan ever taken. Award-winning photographer Barry Feinstein first photographed Bob Dylan in 1964. His portrait of Dylan on the balcony of a New York City penthouse was selected for the cover of The Times They Are A-Changin’. Two years later, Barry was invited to cover Dylan’s controversial 1966 European tour. He served as a witness to Dylan’s historic transition from acoustic to electric guitar—scandalizing the diehard folk purists in attendance. After a motorcycle accident in 1966, Dylan did not tour for almost eight years. When he returned to the stage in 1972, Barry was chosen to accompany him again.

Real Moments is an artist-signed, craftsman-bound book offered in two editions, each limited to 250 copies. The difference between the editions is the color of fine leather binding—deep red or bottle-green—and the accompanying archival-grade print. Both previously unseen prints are numbered and signed. The Red Edition includes an 8" × 10" contact sheet of Bob Dylan in Liverpool in 1966. The Green Edition includes a 10" × 8" image of Bob receiving a rose from a fan during his 1974 U.S. tour. Each edition is presented in a luxurious cloth-bound slipcase with the title blocked in silver foil (Red) or gold leaf (Green).
